Most players can solve a tactic once they know a tactic is there.
The real problem in actual games is different:
noticing the tactic in the first place.
That’s why TacticScan mixes two kinds of positions:
tactical positions, and
quiet, equal positions.
Your task is simple: first decide whether the position contains a tactic at all —
only then look for the move.
This type of training teaches something regular puzzles don’t:
it develops your tactical radar — the ability to spot opportunities
and dangers earlier, faster, and more reliably. Many strong players use similar methods
because they help reduce blind spots and improve pattern recognition.
It’s a small exercise that leads to surprisingly big improvement.
Try a few sessions — you’ll feel the difference.
